It’s a time for celebrating, and with the addition of a public holiday we can really stretch out those weekend vibes! 

We are also sipping on the Vantage Perfect Pear - a fizz style cocktail which pairs Aussie grown pears with spices such as cardamom and star anise. It is both delicious and simple to make. You will need:


45ml Vantage
20ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
20ml Spiced Pear Sugar Syrup*
50ml pear juice
Soda water, to top up
Sprig of rosemary or thyme, cinnamon stick or star anise to garnish

*For the Spiced Pear Sugar Syrup:
235ml water
200g caster sugar
1 pear, cored and cut into pieces
3 star anise
2 cardamom pods

Firstly make the Spiced Pear Sugar Syrup. Do this by adding the syrup ingredients to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and gently stir for about five minutes or until the sugar and pears have dissolved. Then strain the liquid into a jar and allow to cool completely before using.
The rest is simple - just measure out your ingredients - all except the soda water - dry shake in a cocktail shaker and then pour over ice in your favourite cocktail glass. Top with soda water, give it a gentle stir and garnish.
